Girlguiding Dorset

e-news – November 2021

AWARDS

There are so many AMAZING Girlguiding volunteers out there who have gone above and beyond their normal role to make guiding such a brilliant organisation in Dorset.

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognised for their efforts?  Could you nominate them?  It’s not onerous…. Please see our top tips for nominating to help you if you aren’t sure where to start.

Dorset Awards

The Girlguiding Dorset Ammonite Award can be gained by any member aged 18 and above in recognition of their contributions and commitment to guiding at local level within Dorset.

The Dorset Gentian Brooch will be awarded in recognition and acknowledgement of valued service in the promotion and/or support of guiding within and beyond Dorset.

This is a national Good Service award, but received at County level.  This brooch may be given to an adult member of Girlguiding or a branch association for excellent service to guiding.  Girlguiding Dorset County would recommend this award for those providing service at Division or County level.

Region Awards

The South West England Compass Award can be gained by any adult member, including unit helpers in recognition of their contributions and commitment to guiding at unit level and for promoting Guiding in their local area/community.

The Girlguiding South West England Young Adult Leaders Award can be gained by any Leader aged 18 to 30 years who has done something special, something remarkable. The something special or remarkable is wide ranging and will depend on the individual’s circumstances.
