Handing On…

So here I am “for real” now! As I take over the baton from Lisa, I can confirm our county numbers on the 1st August looked like this: Units: 262 Volunteers: 921 Young Members: 3348. I am excited for what lies ahead. I am incredibly proud to have been asked to be your County Commissioner. There will be challenges but I hope that with the help of you all we will be able to see through and overcome those challenges, for the best of the County.
I am looking forward to getting out and about across the Divisions and Districts to meet all of you and our young members. I am challenging myself to visit every division at least once in every year of my 5-year term. That effectively means an average of 1 division a month! I place great importance on seeing the grass roots of guiding and it is a big part of what I enjoyed in my role as Division Commissioner. I very much hope I can achieve that during my term of office. Who wants to be first?
I would also like to hear from each and every one of you. It is your County and I hope that I can do the best job in representing you and to bring us all and our young members more experiences and opportunities. I am therefore challenging you all to contact me with your County Handing On ideas: –
- Something you’d keep
- Something you’d change
- Something you’d lose
- Something you’d like
- Something you’d do
Please contact me using the link. Your replies can remain anonymous. I will consider all your feedback when we begin to look at the County plan for 2027 at September County Exec and with Blue Team. Talking of which, please take a look at the opportunities on offer to be a part of my new County Team – do you have the knowledge, personal skills and relevant experience to fulfil any of the roles? I’d love to hear from you.
I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you all soon.
Carolyn

County office will be closed:
W/C 10th August and
