Welcome to the Autumn Term. I hope that you have all enjoyed the summer break including those of you who may have taken part in residentials, fetes, shows and carnivals. Please do, let us have any photos that you can for the Facebook and Website pages.
We had a good turn out from Dorset at the inaugural Silver Oak Leaf Lunch at the Bishop’s Palace in Wells and some of us were proud to be in the winning quiz team 😊

I would like to announce the appointment of a new County Lead for Property, Sandy Gola. Sandy has extensive experience managing a property in her Division of Twynham. Sandy can be contacted by email on property@girlguidingdorset.org.uk with any of your property queries or questions.
My CC travels in September have got off to a flying start!
I attended the Dorset County Show on Saturday 5th meeting leaders and young members from within and outside of County. We gave out stickers and sweets, supervised lego building and watched The Wurzels – our stand had prime position for the music stage.
I then attended the Dudsbury 95th celebrations on Sunday 6th – quizzing and eating cake!
I held my first Exec with the Division Commissioners on Monday 7th. This was an opportunity to meet up with the Commissioner team to review how things are for them in their area and to begin our plan for 2027.
I returned to my Unit on Tuesday 8th helping the guides plan their programme for the term.
I joined South Division at their Exec meeting on Wednesday 9th where they are working on the amalgamation of their Districts into one team.
I had a Region call on Thursday 10th with some of my fellow commissioners.
I had a night off on Friday 11th! In line with the very sound advice, I received from our County President when taking over this role that I should try and make 1 night a week for my family. Martin and Milly were pleased to see me lol! Talking of which please do remember our County President Chris Gabb who is always willing if she is available to attend your events and meetings. She loves to be invited and have opportunity to meet volunteers and young members alike. Chris can be contacted on christinagabb@btinternet.com
On Saturday 12th I travelled to the very North of our County to present 2 Ammonite Awards to Leaders in the Shaftesbury District – more cake!
On Sunday 13th I attended the Region Awards Celebration in Salisbury along with others from Dorset who have been recognised with Compass or Silver Oak Leaf Awards and for gaining their Gold D of E!
The rest of September is looking a little quieter and I depart for a cruise (22nd-29th September).
